About Me

person

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Washington and have been in private practice since 1997. Along with my private practice I have worked with families in a home based therapy program at one time supported by Child Protective Services. This gave me experience with creative on-the spot counseling with people whose lives were chaotic, desperate, and wanting support for doing well by one another. It was an honor to sit with these families. My greatest strengths are the ability to draw from many different strategies for healing, a sense of humor and reverence for the crooked path we must take at times towards what we are aiming for. I am patient, interactive, often directive and willing to sit in the quiet space of the therapy room.

I am the mother of two adult daughters and have experience in four parent families as well as heterosexual and same sex relationship/marriages. One of my strengths as a therapist is my own commitment to personal work. Self exploration is an on going part of my life and I believe keeps me on equal and honest ground with my clients.
